A green or black screen with audio playing is usually a sign that there is a compatibility problem with a video card. Check that you have downloaded the latest updates from the windows update site at http://update.microsoft.com to ensure you have the latest version of the Microsoft directX drivers.

Next we will turn down the video acceleration.

Open Windows Media Player (WMP) from the Windows "Start" button or from the shortcut on your desktop.

WMP11 does not have the tools menu showing by default, you can access the tools menu by clicking the right mouse button over the top right hand side of the WMP window, in the dark section just to the right of where it says "Media Guide"

This will bring up a new window,

1. Open WMP - right click in menu area and Select tools then options
Select the "Performance" tab on this new window then you should see, towards the bottom, a section titled "Video Acceleration" that has a slider on it. If you select the slider and move it to the middle position, then click the 'Apply' button in the bottom right hand corner and then the "OK" button.

2. If 1 does not work then repeat step 1 but move the slider to the far left position and click 'Apply' and 'OK' and test.

3. If 2 does not work then go back to the "performance" tab and click the advanced button. Remove the checks next to "Use Overlay", click 'OK' to close the window, then click "Apply" and "OK". Close the Windows Media Player and then test again.
