JOB TITLE: Senior Project Manager

 

REPORTS TO: Head of Operations

 

HRS: 37.5 hours per week

 

LOCATION: Feltham, Middlesex

Your Role:

 

As a Senior Project Manager at Perform you will be responsible for the management and delivery of multiple projects for a wide range of clients based in the sports, music and entertainment arenas.

 

Your role will be to manage projects and resources to ensure that the highest quality solution is delivered on brief, on time and on budget, which means:

• Contributing to the creative, technical and strategic direction of the project by working as key part of a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team.

• Gathering and translating client requirements and needs then creating and maintaining project plans based on the agreed approach to meeting the client's needs and deadlines.

• Delivering the highest quality product to the client without compromising project profitability.

• Ensuring that project stakeholders (internally and externally) are up to date with status and progress against the project plan and budget.

• Line management and mentoring of Project Managers and Junior Project Managers

 

 

Your Skills:

 

• You need to have the ability to lead, manage a team and drive major projects e.g. big budget (£300k+), complex, international, technically driven projects.

• The role will involve direct liaison with the clients so the ability to form strong relationships with people at all levels is vital.

• Excellent communication skills are required e.g. lead and facilitate project meetings, lead briefings, present to board-level clients and write clear and compelling proposals and specification documents.

• You'd have a strong passion for both web-based technologies and for the project management discipline including methodologies such as Agile, Prince 2 and PMBOK.

• You must be able to show initiative and confidence in your decision making abilities when faced with challenges. You must also be adaptable and exhibit a strong degree of flexibility whilst managing your projects.

 

• 5 years work experience including combination of the following:

o Experience in developing Web applications.

o Experience with Internet technologies.

o Project lead, team leader or technical architect experience.

o Experience working for a lead Digital agency.

 

 

Your day-to-day roles and responsibilities:

 

Slient service:

• Knowing and understanding your client's business and industry i.e. the context for the project.

• Recording and reporting project status (timing, budgets and deliverables) to the client on a regular basis.

 

Managing the project process:

• Define and write project proposals and plans / schedules and agree final project budgets and timelines, ensuring all documentation is agreed with the client.

• Closely monitor, manage and report on your project timelines, delivery milestones and ensure completion to plan and to deadlines.

• Facilitate identification of resource requirements and coordinate the chosen resources internally.

• Ensure that all 3rd parties are properly coordinated, understand what is required from them and stick to their deadlines and deliverables.

• Effectively resolve any project conflicts such as resource management, scope creep or internal issues to ensure successful delivery.

 

Responsibility:

• Make sure team members follow QA procedures (produce estimates, code review, unit test, UAT etc).

• Ensure that technical work is carried out in accordance with processes and frameworks necessary for the effective functioning of the Technology Department as a whole.

 

Line Management:

• You will be responsible for the development and management of a number of project managers. This will include day to day line management (holiday, sick, training needs, etc), assistance with project related issues and acting as the first point of escalation for project related issues for those staff.

 

General:

• Help evolve the project management offering by introducing new ideas, fresh creative approaches to problem solving and maintaining a 'big picture' vision of the business and its processes.

• Carry out other tasks requested by Senior Management where these are agreed to be reasonable and achievable.
