The Premier League and digital sports specialists Perform have today announced a three year renewal of their mobile and internet clip production partnership.

The renewal, which starts at the beginning of the 2010/11 season, will see Perform ingest, edit and encode up to 4,500 Barclays Premier League clips every match day and distribute them as 'near live' highlights and packages in a number of different encodes to facilitate the Premier League's global internet and mobile licensees.

To accompany the above, Perform will be providing a range of new services, including the creation of bespoke language versions for Spanish, Arabic, German and Italian speaking licensees, as well as introducing alternate, higher bit rate formats to ensure the clips are optimised for next generation smart phones and high bandwidth internet services.

In addition to the core technical and production service provided for the Premier League's international licensees, Perform has also developed a range of consumer focused products and applications to help licensees fully exploit their rights, including:

- Live streaming console, enabling licensees to securely deliver all 380 games in HD streaming formats with a range of online billing and advertiser solutions incorporated
- Flash VOD player with a complete advertising management solution
- Live and VOD territory specific iPhone, iPad and Android mobile applications

"This is an exciting evolution in the service that we currently provide for our valued international licensees." Commented Paul Molnar, Head of Media Operations at the Premier League. "Perform have proven over the last three years that they can deliver a highly innovative production and technical solution."

Oliver Slipper, Joint-CEO of Perform said: "We have been working in a number of capacities for the Premier League over the past three years and are very pleased to be extending our production partnership with them. We really believe the additional distribution solutions will provide the Premier League's mobile and internet licensees with fantastic new opportunities to reach and engage fans."

Perform currently runs the official Barclays Premier League website www.premierleague.com.
