SO WHAT’S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?

The ‘Head of Project Management – Infrastructure’ is a new role that has been created to lead the increasing number and complexity of Infrastructure projects being delivered across a growing business.

The successful candidate will have strong project management credentials but will also have an excellent understanding of technology infrastructure (Networks & Data Centres, Systems Engineering and Databases) with experience delivering similar projects.

The role will be the primary interface between the Infrastructure team and the wider business for project work and will need to prioritise project requestsgather requirementsformalise project documentation, lead project communications; as well as managing the delivery of a number of the larger, more complex projects from end to end.

The role will report to the Head of PMO with a dotted reporting line into the Director of Infrastructure.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR NEW ROLE?

Develop, mature & formalise existing project management practises in the Infrastructure team, with support of the PMO.

Act as the primary interface between the rest of the business and the Infrastructure team, filtering unclear requirements, prioritising project requests and leading communications.

Provide project management structure to all new Infrastructure projects ensuring requirements, objectives and scope are clear and plans are developed with stakeholders and communicated.

Report progress on all Infrastructure projects to the PMO.

Project manage the delivery of the large and complex projects from end to end.

DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW?

Skill Level (out of 4)

Experience working with Infrastructure projects either directly or as a project manager is critical. A Systems Engineering/engineering background would be advantageous.

Strong people skills and experience working with a wide variety of different stakeholders – levels, types, etc. – as well as in different locations.

Excellent people management and communication skills.

Experience of establishing new project management structure.

Experience of producing status reports for senior level stakeholders

Ability to manage a large number of tasks and competing priorities.

Experience in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a requirement.

Technical Understanding of networking, storage and servers (Linux & Windows) as well as basic knowledge around cloud technologies.
