SO WHAT’S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?

The PMO Analyst will be an integral part of the Project Management Office (PMO) team. The role will assist in the creation of a new organisation-wide PMO, as well as supporting the existing project management structures in place.

This role will grow as the new PMO grows and the right candidate will have the opportunity for increased responsibility (inc. line management)

The PMO Analyst will support the Head of PMO and the wider team to manage the Perform Project Lifecycle with a particular focus on governance and reporting. It will also support the roll-out of the PMO across the wider business including communications, training and supporting the bedding-in of the new processes.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR NEW ROLE?

Governance – Supporting projects in best practise project management (inc. relevant documentation) through the project lifecycle with a particular focus on project initiation and close.

Reporting – Review monthly project status reports with projects to analyse updates, review RAG statuses, identify trends and agree escalation and mitigation requirements for any projects that are not on track. Produce the PMO’s monthly status report for senior leadership.

RAID Management – Analysis of project and department risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies; support Project Managers to identify RAID and adhere to PMO guidance, supporting the escalation process.

Other PMO Functions – General support to the Head of PMO in the day to day operations of the PMO

PMO Roll Out – Support expansion and bedding in of the PMO, including training and support to new areas.

DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW?

Skill Level (out of 4)

Minimum 2 years experience working in a PMO

Experience of producing PMO reports for senior level stakeholders

4

Excellent people management and communication skills

4

Experience working with a wide variety of different stakeholders – levels, types, etc. – and in different locations

4

Ability to manage a number of tasks and competing priorities

4

Excellent attention to detail and pride in presentation of outputs

4

Ability to digest large volume of information and write concise summaries and reports

Strong analytical skills

4

Experience in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a requirement.

Experience establishing and embedding new PMO processes into a business
Formal Project Management qualification (PMP, Agile, Prince etc)
