SO WHAT’S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?

This role requires a skilled, energetic and outgoing Project Manager to take responsibility for coordinating development and other activities within a fast-paced digital media environment. Working on strategically important projects with high-profile internal and external brands (including Goal, Sporting News, Soccerway, Mackolik, DAZN, NBA and CONMEBOL), you will be passionate about enabling teams to deliver commercially-focused products within the sports industry.

As part of a team of digital product specialists, project managers have responsibility for multiple projects, supporting delivery by planning and managing deliverables in line with the overall roadmap, and ensuring that live products are maintained and supported beyond release.

Delivery focused and prepared to roll your sleeves up, you will proactively manage your RAID to get projects over the line, as well as being responsible for project reporting (status reports, RAG etc) to stakeholders at all levels.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR NEW ROLE? % of role
Ensure all assigned projects are well managed and governed, working alongside the Product Manager/Product Owner to deliver in line with the agreed roadmap
Proactively manage RAID for projects, ensuring team members and dependency owners are aware of, and accountable for, their tasks; and that blockers/actions are swiftly resolved with a focus on delivery 30
Work with Product Managers/Owners and Business Analysts to plan, allocate and deliver development projects with our teams in Poland, USA or other locations 20
Liaise with and report to Perform’s PMO function and other Project Managers within Perform Media to ensure your project management activities conform to required standards 10
Develop and maintain core project documentation throughout the project life cycle 10
Coordinate internal communication, training briefings and supporting (handover) documentation ahead of product launches 5
Deliver action-focused post-project reviews to improve future projects 5
Any other tasks required to ensure project delivery 20
DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW? Skill Level (out of 4)
Demonstrable experience of delivering products and services projects preferably within an Agile/Scrum (experience of other methodologies beneficial) 4
Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, on budget and to agreed quality 4
Proactive, committed and delivery-focused 4
Excellent written and verbal communication skills 3
A commitment to personal and professional development 3
Professional project management qualification or equivalent experience 3
DO YOU HAVE THESE DESIRABLES?
An interest in sports or digital sports publishing
Background in media or digital
An understanding of web/mobile technologies and trends
Understanding and experience of technical delivery processes and the ability to efficiently communicate requirements and negotiate priorities with technical teams
Excellent report writing and presentation skills
Experience using a range of digital communication tools (eg Skype, Slack) to work with distributed teams
Experience of JIRA and/or other project management support tools
