Release and Deployment Engineer (UK 1699)
The release and deployment engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and streamlining our automated build and release pipeline for our sports OTT platform, DAZN.
This role is required to operate in a fast paced rapidly changing environment and should understand the concepts of a technical service support environment along with Service Delivery including service transition ensuring delivery with no interruption to live service. The candidate should bring an understanding of how to create agile engineering processes that are required to manage across our development, reliability and support engineering teams.

As we transition into Microservices, you will work with cutting edge Cloud technologies, Terraform and Kubernates and collaborate with our Site Reliability Engineers and Development teams to help define our new release and continuous integration processes.

|Governance of source control branches and performing integrations with merge conflicts.||20|
|Facilitating and championing the quick resolution of problems found during the daily build and deployment efforts||20|
|Creating and maintaining documentation of the build/release process.||20|
|Investigating tools and processes and integrating them so that they can improve the reliability, stability and efficiency with which we release our services.||20|
|Working closely with the development team to integrate new deployment processes and strategies to support continuous integration and deployment
|DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW?||Skill Level (out of 4)|
|Solid experience (at least 3-5 years) in an engineering, dev ops type role||4|
|Strong knowledge of technology infrastructure and services as well as broadcast and video services||4|
|Strong understanding of change management and release management principles in a highly distributed digital environment||4|
|Strong familiarity with software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems like Git Hub , Git experience||4|
|Hands –on experience of working with Experience with build management tools Jenkins Maven, Nexus||4|
|Should have a software CI/continuous delivery background, with understanding of how code should be delivered from Development, through testing and then Production.||4|
|Experience of working with technologies ranging from Linux/Docker/Kubernetes/Software packaging/Terraform/AWS/ECS/Lambda||4|
|Should be able to formulate, explain, and interpret policy; plan, organize, prioritize, and delegate work||3|
|Knowledge of both front-end and back-end deployments||3|
|Ability to work at all levels on an internal and external basis with the ability to clearly articulate and challenge decisions around release priorities||3|
|Excellent communications with stakeholder management including strong influencing skills.||3|
|Ability to balance competing priorities and exercise independent judgment||2|
|Ability to gain cooperation from a wide variety of internal teams, including senior management and other departments||2|

|Strong understanding of software engineering and dev ops with hands on experience of CI/CD tools|
