Objective

 

Comedybox is the brainchild of John Lloyd, creator of Blackadder and Spitting Image, Not the Nine O'clock News and QI, who approached Warner Music Entertainment with the idea of providing an online platform for up and coming comedians to broadcast their talents, whilst also showcasing quality comedy talent in the UK. The aim is to become the place to visit for Comedy online.

 

How Perform responded

 

Perform Technology developed a flagship media player for WME, designed to cope with high levels of streaming.

 

To support the launch of the site Perform Consumer Marketing fulfilled all the marketing services, developing a commercial strategy and managing the launch, including positioning the brand, online PR, an extensive social networking campaign, display ads, search strategy and affiliate recruitment. The launch campaign was a brilliant success and within 6 weeks of launch Comedybox was five times more trafficked than the UK's previous premier comedy destination.

 

Finally Perform Sales acted as the Comedybox advertising sales representative, using their network of media agencies to secure advertising inventory across the site.
